  • My Girly Office

I've worked out of the living room of our apartment for the past 5+ years, so I'm super excited that I finally have an office of my own.  I want to make it super girly with lots of pops of color.  It's already been painted Benjamin Moore Natura's Bahaman Sea Blue (it's still too messy to photograph)...

I have a white West Elm Parsons Desk for my mac on one wall...

And I have an Elfa system on another wall for my pc...

I have a third wall where I'd like to put up a corkboard and some seating.  I've been shopping around for a hot pink rug and wasn't having much luck until my designer friend told me to check out Madeline Weinreb.  Pink rugs galore!  I know it sounds kinda crazy, but I think it will look so cool!

Organizing is taking forever -- there's no way I'll be done by the time the baby arrives!

  • Furniture

I recently bought this tray table from CB2 and I love it!  Right now I'm using it as an additional nightstand, but you can use it as a side table, an extra table when entertaining, or you can just separate the tray too.

I also bought these picture rails from Room and Board to display pictures above our sofa and bed.

I knew Mr. Bee would love a sectional, though I probably would have picked something much more feminine, so we ordered this one from Pepperberry (a to the trade furniture store).  He's going to spend way more time on the sofa than me anyway.

To make it a bit more feminine though, we're using these legs instead.

I love so many things from Ballard Designs.  I wish they had a physical store in New York!  I want an oversized framed corkboard like this for my office, but this one is a little too pricey.  I could DIY, but I don't have the energy to do that right now.

Perhaps this linen pinboard from Pottery Barn instead?

We need some kind of organizational system in our entry hallway as well.  I'd like something more stylish than this from Pottery Barn, but haven't really found anything.

I love the charm of this rattan elephant hamper from Home Decorator's collection for the nursery, but it's a little pricey, so I'm still debating whether or not to buy it.

We lived essentially without any furniture in our last apartment -- we slept on a mattress on the floor for a year -- since I got pregnant and we knew that we'd be moving.  So we have lots of little organizational things we need to pull this apartment together.  It's a work in progress.

    On the pregnancy front...

    - My knuckles/joints in my hands are very swollen and sore -- my wedding ring hasn't fit for a couple months.  And I have bubble toes!
    - Putting a motion sensor nightlight in the bathroom is the best thing I did recently!  I don't have to turn on the bright light for all those frequent late night trips to the bathroom.
    - I'm so tired and ready to have this baby!

  • A Little Scare

Earlier today I was throwing out some boxes, tripped on the stairs, and fell really hard on the concrete.  I skinned my right knee, and bruised my left side.  Because the baby continued to move regularly afterwards, and I know many women fall while pregnant and are fine, I wasn't too worried.  But to be on the safe side, I gave my hospital a call and the nurse suggested that I come into the hospital for some monitoring.  If something was wrong and I hadn't gone to the hospital, I would have never forgiven myself.

Once I got there, they hooked up a monitor that tracked the baby's heartbeat, contractions, and my heartbeat.  I had contractions so light that I couldn't even feel them -- but it was freaking me out watching the baby's heartbeat on the monitor go up so high!  It was a glimpse of how anxious I'd feel once I'm actually in labor.

The baby turned out to be fine, and I'm now also 1/2 a centimeter dilated -- I wasn't dilated at all at my appointment last week.  That doesn't really give any indication of when I might go into labor though.

I do tend to be a little clumsy, so I'm glad that I'm not going to be pregnant once it starts snowing!  I've also been doing too much again lately, but I've really learned my lesson now and am going to take it easy the rest of the pregnancy.

  • 37 Weeks

Today I'm considered full term!  This baby is cooked and ready to be born!  Though my official due date is December 10th, I'm really hoping the baby comes early.  Too early and it'll be Thanksgiving, too late and it'll be Christmas.  Besides I've been super uncomfortable for some time now, and this baby is grande.  There isn't much room left in my belly!

After Weddingbee blogger Miss Cheeseburger blogged about funfetti cake yesterday, I bought a box and made some.  I grew up on cake from a box, but hadn't had it in years.  Box cake is the best!

I'm going to watch the New Moon premiere at midnight tomorrow night.

We have no Thanksgiving plans this year since I can't be far from home, so I was thinking about hosting a dinner for other misfits.  What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

  • Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

I made broiled tilapia parmesan with garlic lemon broccoli for dinner tonight.  The tilapia was so good and so easy, and Mr. Bee loved it!  I think I'll make it again sometime in the future for a dinner party.

(styling/photographing food to make it blogworthy takes too long so this image is from allrecipes)

Now that I'm cooking three times a day, I can't imagine living without a dishwasher.  I never used one growing up, but it's really a lifesaver when you cook a lot.

Do you have any yummy recipes that I should try?  I'm trying to make more nonKorean dishes....
