  • 3 Day Weekend.

Phew 3 day weekends wipe me out. We had 3 playdates, did lots of art projects, worked, and barely slept. Charlie woke up crying at 1am on Sunday morning because he was so constipated. It's been an ongoing issue since Olive was born. This time it was really serious so Mr. Bee made a middle of the night run to Duane Reade to buy some suppositories. Wow... it worked within one minute! Charlie went from crying nonstop, to happy and playing instantly. Of course that also meant he was up all night. He finally crashed on the sofa hours after the sun came up. Poor Charlie -- his mom is blogging about suppositories.

When I think back to how I used to think it was hard having one kid, I realize now that it was so easy. Charlie slept through the night from 4 months on, and he's always been a relatively well behaved boy. I guess it's all relative. This is our new normal now. I was thinking this weekend that I'm not going to have a good night's sleep for a long time with two kids. One or the other is invariably going to be up. This weekend it was both kids since Charlie was constipated and Olive had a cold that she caught from Charlie.

But life is still fun. Still full. And I lovely love my kids.

How was your 3 day weekend?

Aaaaw...poor Charlie.    Glad he is feeling better though.  Does he like blackberries?  That does wonders for Nicholas.  Our three-day weekend wasn't too eventful except a 3-year-old party with a big moon bounce that Nicholas FINALLY had the guts to go into for once AND he played with other kids.  Since starting preschool he has learned how to play with other kids better.  I guess play dates alone just wasn't cutting it for him.  School has made such a huge difference.

and I didn't have a 3 day weekend, apparently my school doesn't want to celebrate the presidents! :( haha

No 3 day weekend here either. :( Poor Charlie... at least the suppositories helped. It does seem harder with 2 kids, but so much more rewarding.

Does Charlie like fruits or veggies?  I remember that 'can't-poop' feeling when I was a child and my mom also to use drastic measures.
